What is non-invasive prenatal paternity testing?
NIPP analyzes cell-free fetal DNA (cffDNA) circulating in the mother's blood and compares it to the alleged father's DNA from a buccal swab. No fetal cells are sampled directly, so there is no risk to the baby. Available from the seventh week of pregnancy onward.

Prenatal FAQ
More on prenatal testing.
Is the maternal blood draw painful?
It is the same as any standard blood draw. Brief and minimal discomfort.
When is NIPP not the right choice?
Very rarely. The most common case is when fetal DNA fraction is too low at the earliest gestational ages. We recollect at no cost in those cases. Every situation is a little different. Call us and we will walk through yours in under 5 minutes. (866) 873-0879.
